Allister had a very busy month of May.

On May 16, he participated in his first community service event — Go Cincinnati — in which he joined an army of 6,400 volunteers to impact Cincinnati through various service projects in a one-day, citywide blitz of compassion. Allister “supervised” a mural project for the Lower Price Hill Community School. He met lots of cool people and especially enjoyed Go Grub — the huge block party in Washington Park — where thousands of volunteers and people from the community ate pulled pork, macaroni and cheese and collard greens prepared by the top ten chefs in Cincinnati.

The busy month culminated with a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo. Allister and his Mom were given rock star treatment and they were allowed to meet Slip the Manatee up close.

It is hard to believe but Allister is six months old. His gustatory choices have expanded to avocado, sweet potato, rice cereal and apple sauce.

Finally. Spring is here and Allister is digging it.

Allister just returned from his first plane trip. He and his mom went to Chicago. The trip out of Cincinnati was adventurous — several inches of snow and ice to deal with on the commute to the airport along with a long delay. At last, they arrived safely in Chicago and had no problems on the return flight home.

Dad has been slacking on his photography duties. Finally found some time to take a few new shots and get them posted.

Allister went for a hike to High Falls near Cheaha State Park with his parents during our visit with Grandma and Grandpa Fike in Alabama. The hike yielded some of my favorite photos of him.
