Autumn

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Today is the Autumn equinox. Fall and all that comes with it - football, pleasant weather, beautiful colors, less crowded golf courses - has officially arrived.

However, things are amiss.

The foreseeable forecast calls for 90 degree temperatures, severe drought could mute autumn’s color and melting ice has opened the Northwest Passage.

Finally, the Chicago Cubs may be playing baseball in October. Despite the fact that Hell - much less Earth - is not freezing, the Cubbies have a legitimate chance to make the playoffs. Tina and I will attend the Friday night game against the Reds here in Cincinnati to lend our support.

Welcome

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

Hello and welcome to jamiefike.com.

This site has two goals. First, it is a place for me to exercise my design, web development and writing skills outside of my day-to-day job as an intranet web developer. Eventually, the site will house some of my freelance design work, projects around the house and whatever else is occupying my time.

Finally, the content on the site is meant to entertain me and reduce the amount of time I spend on golf courses and in antique shops. Hopefully, you’ll find something to enjoy, as well.
